Warm-up

The 4 technique foundations

Factor 1: First touch

Concept: Beginners kill the ball dead and lose time and space. Tip: Withdraw the foot slightly at the moment of contact and take the ball straight into open space.

Factor 2: Ground pass (inside foot)

Concept: A wobbly plant foot and a loose ankle make passes lift off. Tip: Plant foot ~20 cm beside the ball, toes to the target, lock the ankle, strike through the middle.

Factor 3: Dribbling

Concept: The ball too far from your foot makes you predictable in duels. Tip: Many close touches, head up, changes of pace and direction – deliberately train the weak foot.

Factor 4: Shot (instep)

Concept: Too much brute force from a standstill costs precision. Tip: Plant foot beside the ball, toes pointed, drive through the middle with the laces – glance at the target first.

Recovery

Pro tip: Football gets faster in the head before it gets faster in the legs. Scan over your shoulder every few seconds BEFORE the ball arrives – and you’ll out-decide technically stronger but “blind” opponents.
