The 3 golden technique rules

Factor 1: Stance & foot position

Concept: The wrong stance makes every movement unnatural. Tip: Work out regular or goofy, feet over the truck bolts – weight centred and low.

Factor 2: No mongo push

Concept: Pushing with the front foot makes you unstable and costs board control. Tip: Push with the back foot; after the push, turn the front foot sideways and roll stable.

Factor 3: Eyes ahead

Concept: Staring at your feet costs orientation and balance. Tip: Knees slightly bent, eyes in the direction of travel – the body regulates balance itself.

Pro tip: Learn the foot brake before rolling down your first hill – if you can brake you dare more, and if you dare more you learn faster.
