A braking technique dragging one skate crosswise behind the other — the T shape gives it its name.
The T-stop is the brake that always works, even with a worn-out stopper or none fitted at all. Shift your weight onto the front leg, set the rear skate crosswise behind it and let it drag under light pressure. The most common mistake is too much pressure too early: the rear skate catches an edge and pulls you sideways. Start with a light drag and build pressure. Second point: weight stays forward and the torso upright — lean back and you lose control of the braking leg. Expect this technique to cost you wheels; it grinds a flat spot into them, which is why frequent skaters rotate theirs regularly.
