Precision Jump

A jump from one exact point to another. What counts isn't distance but hitting the spot precisely and coming to a complete stop on it.

What matters

The precision is the most honest test of body control parkour has: because you have to stand still on the target, you can't hide a bad landing in a run-out. That's exactly why it belongs at the start of your training and not on top of a wall. Practise it on the ground first, line to line — foot placement and body control with no fall risk at all — and only then move onto ledges. The classic mistake is adding distance before the landing is quiet. Useful for judging yourself: what best predicts the height at which someone switches from a precision landing to a roll is countermovement jump power, and notably not leg length. More explosive strength genuinely widens your safe window. The caveat: even a clean precision landing from a 0.75 m drop still peaks at roughly 3.2 times your body weight.
