Għajn Tuffieħa & Golden Bay

Malta

Two sandy bays, separated only by a headland and linked on foot; both hold the Blue Flag. Check the flag before you go in: green means calm water, yellow medium hazard, purple jellyfish, red high hazard and double red the water is closed. The red-over-yellow flag marks the supervised section.

Majjistral Park / Golden Bay

Malta

Golden Bay is a sandy bay on Malta's northwest coast and holds the Blue Flag. In summer the beach is flagged: the red-over-yellow flag marks the supervised area, purple signals jellyfish and double red means the water is closed. Its neighbouring bay, Għajn Tuffieħa, is a walk away over the headland.

St. Peter's Pool

Malta

A natural rock pool at the tip of the Delimara peninsula near Marsaxlokk: no sand, just flat limestone slabs, with entry by ladder or by jumping. No lifeguards, no showers, no toilets. In wind and swell the water pushes back out through gaps in the rock and sets up outward-flowing currents.
