That speed generates exactly the kind of valgus stress (sideways pull on the ligament) that wears out the UCL over time.

Never spike throwing volume abruptly, especially after training breaks. The classic "I haven't thrown in three weeks, now let's catch up" trap is one of the most common triggers of acute symptoms in otherwise healthy throwers.
Build a fixed arm-care routine into every session — activation before throwing (external rotation, band work), recovery after throwing (light cool-down, mobilization). It costs 10 to 15 minutes per session and is the cheapest insurance available in throwing sports.
