Karibik · Best time: Dec–Apr · All levels
Caribbean reef breaks with a December-to-March main season: Carenero Point peels left for 100 to 150 metres into a deeper paddle channel and asks for intermediate-plus skills. Paunch breaks over the shallowest, jagged coral rock in the bay and is expert territory, as is the heavy shore break at Bluff Beach. To learn, use the sand at Wizard Beach.

Los Santos · Best time: Dec–Apr · All levels
A beach break over black sand in a wide bay: the middle offers a left with a roughly 50-metre ride and a forgiving pocket, while small waves roll into the edges for learners. The middle break works best on a pushing to high tide. The December-to-March dry season is cleanest, and the S and SW swells run April to October.

Veraguas · Best time: Apr–Oct · All levels
La Punta at the eastern end of the main beach is a reef point break: the right is the main wave, fast off the take-off and then bowling around the reef, rideable from upper-intermediate level. At low tide you use one of the two paddle channels between the reefs. Estero is a wide sandy bay for beginners, with 50 to 80 metre rights at its western end. Main season April to October.
