Pair your dryland work with kick sets on the board, deliberately steering the new power into a narrow, fast whip kick. Strength without technique transfer stays strength training, not swim training. Ideally swim a few easy breaststroke-kick lengths right after the dryland session while the muscles are still activated – that way your nervous system links the fresh strength to the correct movement pattern.
The adductors and groin are injury-prone – strains arise quickly from too much volume or too-long levers. Increase load and range slowly and warm the hip up thoroughly before explosive work.
If you come from a groin or adductor injury, build load only pain-free and progressively, ideally with physiotherapy guidance. A pulling pain in the groin is a stop signal, not a training stimulus.
The biggest lever isn't more strength, it's strength at the right foot: combine every adductor session with five minutes of ankle mobility and a short kick drill straight after.
