Dolomiten

Südtirol · Best time: Year-round · All levels

The range is named after dolomite, though areas differ — Marmolada is limestone and Pian Schiavaneis white limestone. Crags sit between 1,550 m (Malga Ciapela, Laste) and 2,200 m (Steinerne Stadt), with routes from 4c to 8c. In summer, thunderstorms build frequently in the afternoon.

Finale Ligure

Ligurien

Limestone above the sea. The Finale Outdoor Region lists close to 200 sectors covering sport climbing, multi-pitch and via ferrata, and shows live which crags are open. The mild coastal climate keeps the rock usable year-round, winter included.
