Gaafu Dhaalu · Best time: Feb–Apr & Sep–Nov · Advanced
A right-hand reef break in Huvadhoo Atoll: hollow, fast and powerful, with rides of 150 to 300 metres on a good day. It starts working under a metre and holds 2.5 metres plus, works at all stages of the tide, and wants southeast swell with a north-northwest offshore wind. Coral, rips and sharks come with it; access is by ferry or speedboat.

Laamu · Best time: Mar–Oct · Advanced
A right-hand reef break at a channel mouth in the southeast of Laamu Atoll: the outside builds slowly in deeper water, the inside runs fast and often hollow over shallower coral. Season is March to October, with the biggest swells June to August. Intermediate and up — the pass carries rips and the shallow reef doesn't forgive much.
Kaafu · Best time: Mar–Oct · All levels
Cokes sits right off the island: a fast, hollow right over shallow reef for high-end intermediates, and experts only when it's pumping. Chickens, the left just across the channel, breaks over deeper reef, is more playful and offers long walls that suit longboarders too. Season runs March to October, biggest June to August.
